So you made the decision to get your brows Microbladed after seeing endless posts of amazing looking brows on Social Media.

This semi-permanent beauty treatment has taken the world by storm as it leaves you with perfect looking brows, without any makeup for up to 18 months, how can you not be convinced? There are many things that you need to consider when having Microblading especially the aftercare as this is crucial to keeping your brows looking perfect after your treatment.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow treatment that can totally transform your brows whether you are looking for a defined brow or something thicker and fluffier. This procedure cuts into the skin of your brows and implants pigment into the cuts to create hundreds of tiny strokes that resemble the texture of hair. Microblading can be as natural or as noticeable as you like and your trained Technician will work with you on what look you are going for in your consultation.

What is the aftercare for my brows?

As Microblading is similar to a tattoo, the aftercare is also very similar however as Microblading is on your face you need to take extra care. It can take anywhere from 7-14 days for your brows to heal, the redness to disappear and the colour of the pigment to fade.

Once your brows have healed, you want to protect your new Microbladed brows and look after your skin. SPF is recommended to apply to your brows (and the rest of your face of course for anti-aging!) to ensure that the pigment doesn’t fade too quickly.
Microblading lasts for 12-18 months before a top up is needed which is perfect if you are looking for a low-maintenance treatment which will leave you waking up daily with perfect brows!

Here are some tips on how to look after your brows after your procedure...

  • Avoid getting the area wet and avoid any touching or scratching for 7 days after your treatment
  • Do not put any products, lotions or makeup on your brows for 7 days
  • When showering or washing your face, avoid your brows getting wet
  • Avoid swimming, saunas and excessive sweating until the area has fully healed
  • Apply your ointment/cream/balm that your Technician has given you as directed
  • Try not to sleep on your face and use clean pillowcases
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning
